The Most Creative People
in the World Have ADD!
Hey, it worked, I got
your attention right?
Seriously though, many
people do not know what ADD is, or even what the letters ADD stand for.
ADD = Attention Deficit Disorder. If you see, ADHD it means Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder. Most commonly ADD is thought to be a childhood
disorder that effects mostly boys. The truth is that there are MANY girls
out there with ADD that goes undiagnosed until their children are diagnosed.
I probably can't give you an effective definition of ADD, but basically
it involves impulivity, hyperactivity (sometimes), and inappropriate attention
levels for different activities. There are many, many sites out there about
ADD. I have not come close to looking at all of them yet but I do plan
to update my links as often as possible to keep you up to date.
Since there are so many
other sites out there that deal with medications, clinical diagnosis of
ADD, and all the normal gunk that makes an ADD web page, I thought I would
try to make this one more fun and happy. For now, the most fun I can offer is my
Explanations Page, I tried to define some common ADD
situations for your amusement. I will include resources for ADDults
as well as children whenever I find them, and I will try to keep this site
organized (a difficult task considering I am organizationally challenged).
I feel that I must add
this little disclaimer, it is good advice for any topic: Please remember,
information you recieve about ADD over the internet is not intended as
diagnosis. If you feel you exhibit
any ADD qualities or "symptoms" please find a medical professional to help
you.
For those of you who
are interested, you can read the abridged version of
My Story by following this link.
For the other ADDults
out there, I know how difficult it is to find people that believe you actually
have this "childhood behavioral problem that should have been outgrown"
That is why you should follow
this link! You will find an easy form to fill in and you will be able
to get email from other ADDults who will understand you, comfort you, and
become your second family.
For those of you who
do not have ADD (and those who do) you can follow
this link to a page where I have created a chat room for your pleasure.
I welcome anyone who has been touched by ADD through a friend or loved
one, as well as those who think they might have ADD to come and have a
good clean discussion. This is intended to be a friendly atmosphere where
anyone can feel free to ask their deepest, darkest questions about ADD.
